Last winter was colder than average all along the East Coast (with up to 8cm of snow in parts of Southern Queensland)! Queenslanders don’t always consider air conditioners as their first heating option to get them through the winter months. Some of us may think that an air conditioning unit that can warm and cool your space sounds too good to be true…and somewhat expensive. However, if you’re mindful of running costs and energy efficiency, we believe that installing a Reverse Cycle Split System air conditioner should be on the top of your list.

Electric Heating vs. Air Conditioning is often misunderstood. An easy way to remember the difference is that Air Conditioners are up to 3 times more efficient than electric heating!

Another thing to be aware of is air conditioning running temperatures. A TSR technician recently captured these shocking before and after filter shots whilst carrying out a rapid Hyrdo-Clean Service. It is imperative to keep your filters clean and preserved all year round, in particular before winter to avoid the risk of overheating and not to mention keeping the surrounding air clean and fresh!

Finally, if your air conditioner has adjustable louvers, tilting them towards the floor also helps to warm the room in cold weather!
